Who We Are

Rachel Zwipf- Chair

Rachel was born and raised in Pittsburgh PA and relocated her family to Pottstown after tragedy hit home.  She found the loving, supporting community that she grew up with in Pottstown, and has remained a resident for the last ten years. Rachel is a University of Pittsburgh graduate with a BA in Administration of Criminal Justice. She has a pure passion for helping others and focuses her work on both juvenile justice and mental health case management. She is now a full-time business owner of a local cleaning company.  She is a loving mother to two sons, Sean and Jackson, and enjoys hosting her children and neighborhood kids as much as possible. You will often find Rachel in nature, taking in the sun or swimming in a lake, an outdoor adventurer.

Rachel’s says “It’s important for me to give back to my community! Why? Because my community is in extension of my home, they took me in when I relocated and still look out for me now.”

StephEnie Brown- Vice Chair

Stephenie Brown, was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana; but spent her entire life traveling between there and her mother’s hometown of Huntersville, NC. Stephenie is a proud 5th generation Pottstown resident.  Stephenie has worked in the area of affordable housing for the past 27 years, and has a passion for community activism and helping others. Stephenie is a contributor of the Mayor’s Housing Task force for the Town of Huntersville.

Emmanuel Allen – Treasurer

Emmaunel Allen moved to the Charlotte Area in 1979 to work for IBM. Shortly after he married Tawana Nivens of Pottstown. Mr. Allen was the chair for Charlotte Organized Project (CHOP).  While chair he campaigned to end red-lining. His focus now is on spending time with his family, traveling, and working to stop the gentrification in Pottstown and to help the residents take control of the community.

Leonard King – Secretary

Leonard King III is a Huntersville native who recently moved back from New York five years ago. I have a BBA Bachelors of Business administration from UNCC and an Associates in Arts from Mitchell Community College. My role as a project manger has provided great experience leading into my public service roles. I currently sit on the Public Arts commisson for the Town of Huntersville, Charlotte Rotarian and a member of the Charlotte Chamber as a young professional member.
My life mantra is to make meaning in which I strive to make an impact and meaning in everything I do.
